Q&A with MARK DAVIES: Product Manager

Our product manager Mark Davies, pictured above, has been a core member of the team for over 17 years. So we thought you might like to know a little more about him and his role.

What is your industry background?

I’ve worked at Fine Controls for over 17 years, starting as a very young stores person, working in the goods inwards and despatch department. Over time I changed roles for the first time and moved into the workshop, where I learnt how to assemble and modify the units we sell, anything from regulator spring changes to calibrating an I/P convertor. In 2004 I moved into the sales office, as office junior and shortly after was promoted into full-time sales, which I really enjoyed and realised that sales were my real forte. Since 2010 I have been the product manager for Rotork Midland range and act as a key account manager for a number of our major accounts. So over the years I’ve been involved in a number of roles and seen Fine Controls grow into the successful company it is today. Most of the staff at Fine controls have been with the company for many years, so it’s felt more like being with family and friends than you standard working environment, it’s a really nice place to work.

The best part of working for Fine Controls?

I really enjoy the sales side of the business, selling our products all over the world and speaking to customers from many different cultures. Even after 17 years with the company I still get a constant variation of work every day, you never get the same application twice and are constantly learning, whether its new products or different applications.
