Battle of the sexes in Engineering continues

Battle of the sexes in Engineering continues

A recent survey undertaken by the Institute of Engineering & Technology has found that only 6% of the Engineering sector's workforce is female.

This begs the question 'Does it matter?' Our opinion in respect of equality in the workplace is a resounding 'NO', our opinion on this percentage being so low also calls us to ask why are women shying away from this dynamic, rewarding and vital industry? Do old-school ideals influence employers decisions? Are our schools not doing enough to promote sciences and industry as a viable career path? Or are we just looking at this entire subject to deeply?
